Anderson Guo Mr. Connolly ENG 2D Dec 16, 2012 Final Assessment Essay There is many way that the compassion created toward the protagonist in the "Kill Giant" and “America born Chinese”, the ways are happened in many located, but the most ways are all happened in the school. The protagonist is called Barbara, she is a school girl, she lives with her aunt and her many cousins, but she and they get along with a lot of very harmonious, and her dad was dead when she still young, her mom was seriously sickled at the hospital, but Barbara have no courage to face her mom, because her mom is going to die. The first way that the compassion created Barbara is she hates the giant, because the giant kill’s elves and he is the only person can see the elves. So she always says "I Kill Giants" in her school, that make she's classmate think she is wearied, and this made her don't have friends. The second way the compassion created toward Barbara is she was very withdrawn, this all because she always very lonely, and her childhood is a little miserable, make her character produced change, so she didn't look for a person to be friends. The third way that the compassion created toward Barbara is in her school have a female overlord always bully to her, that all because when the female overlord talking to her, she just all ignore, so she get so many bullies from the female overlord. There are only two protagonists in this book, the first protagonist is called Jin, and the second protagonist is called Wei Chen. They are both in a same school and same class. Jin was born in the America; Wei Chen was born in the Monkey Kings cave, because he is a monkey. The first way that the compassion created them is they both are Chinese, so nobody likes them. That's all because the other countries heard some bad rumors about china, and china has spawned a misunderstanding, so it's very rejection to them. Although Jin was born in the America, but still nobody want to make friend with him. The second way that the compassion created toward them is they both very quiet, but there are two type of quiet, the Jin's quiet is because he don't like talk much, the Wei Chen's quiet is because he is timid and shy, so they don't have any friend. The third way is all about Wei Chen, there is no third way to Jin, the third way that the compassion created toward Wei Chen is before he become a human he is the Monkey King's seed, so when he first wet the humans, he was a little scary about humans, that's why he get no friend. In conclusion, in the “Kill Giant”, although the compassion created toward Barbara made her childhood very miserable, made her character produced change, and made her get no friends, always being lonely. But at the last of the "Kill Giant," she finally get a best friend from she saved her life in the giant's hand. In “America Born Chinese”, although the compassion created them lonely and have no friend at their school, but finally at the end of ABC those two protagonists became to the best friend.
